Wales flanker Aaron Wainwright states it wasn’t”that nice” to be the casualty of an elbow from France lock Sebastien Vahaamahina.
At a gripping World Cup quarter-final At Oita, Vahaamahina was shipped off for the episode before secure a location and Wales proceeded to win 20-19.
“It had been a maul, and he had me from the neck to start with,” said Wainwright.
“I was trying to get the referee’s attention, and then the elbow arrived .”
Wainwright added:”I was a little amazed the referee did not see it to begin , but mercifully the television match pulled it up and it had been dealt with. We put the pressure on afterwards and watched the game through.
“I’m fine right now. It wasn’t that nice at the time.”
Even the 22-year-old back-rower and Dragons team-mate Elliot Dee have played at 2019, and it is more than any other participant for almost any state 14 Tests for Wales.
Man-of-the-match Wainwright scored his opening Evaluation try for Wales in the first half since the Six Nations winners churns through Ross Moriarty touchdown which Dan Biggar converted and fought back.
“The ball popped up, also that I can’t really remember what happened apart from sprinting towards the lineup,” said Wainwright.
“We have been building for the previous 18 months, and the belief has ever been there. Coming in half-time behind, we had notion.
“It is a massive achievement for the group. It’s good to come out with the win and look ahead into eyes and this semi-final over the last. To develop a trophy in the conclusion of it might be fine.
“Today showed we can grit it out and get the task done, even though it was not the prettiest.”
Wainwright clarified his impression celebration.
“I’ve got a sevens team home called the stags, so that was exactly what the celebration was about,” he said.
“With all the moustache, all of my partners went to Prague to a boys’ holiday, and they said they were going to grow moustaches.
“They said if I grew one they would crop me to the photos just so that I did not feel like I was missing out.
“I certainly don’t feel like I am missing out now, being here”
